Vietnam's steel pipe manufacturing base is entering a new phase of capacity and technology investment. Hoa Phat Group's Long An Steel Pipe Plant, located in Tay Ninh Province, has entered synchronized production with annual capacity of more than 400,000 tonnes.
According to Hoa Phat's official information published in June 2026, the facility represents an investment of more than VND 2 trillion. Construction began in 2023, and the plant was completed and brought into coordinated production from the beginning of 2026.
Key facts about the new steel pipe plant
- Annual capacity: More than 400,000 tonnes of steel pipe products
- Investment: More than VND 2 trillion
- Location: Tay Ninh Province, Southern Vietnam
- Production: Black steel pipes, large-diameter pipes and hot-dip galvanized steel pipes
- Standards: Products designed to meet ASTM, BS EN and JIS requirements
- Clean energy: A 10 MW rooftop solar system that can provide more than half of the plant's production electricity needs
The site uses automated production and warehouse systems, including robotic loading and unloading, laser marking, real-time data management and centralized quality control. This investment is intended to improve productivity, consistency and delivery speed for domestic and export customers.
Steel pipe demand is also accelerating
Hoa Phat reported sales of 241,000 tonnes of steel pipes in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 30% year on year. The company also stated that it remains Vietnam's largest steel pipe producer, with an estimated domestic market share of approximately 34.3%.
These figures indicate that the expansion is not only a capacity story. It reflects stronger requirements from infrastructure, industrial construction, energy, mechanical engineering and export-oriented manufacturing across Vietnam and the wider ASEAN region.
What this means for the tube and pipe supply chain
The new plant is likely to create additional demand for tube mills, galvanizing systems, welding and cutting equipment, automation, testing instruments, surface treatment technology, raw materials and industrial logistics. It also raises expectations for product traceability, international certification and lower-carbon production.
For international suppliers and manufacturers, Vietnam continues to offer opportunities across the complete tube and pipe value chain. Tube & Pipe Show Vietnam 2026 will bring together steel pipe producers, machinery companies, technology providers, distributors and industrial buyers in Hanoi from November 25-27, 2026.
